About Jenny Craig
Before I took up acupuncture I was a biologist, with a PhD in microbial ecology, and many years of research experience in various areas of plant biology, biochemistry and medical science. A growing interest in alternative therapies and in working with people led me to embark on my new career. In 2000, I graduated from the College of Traditional Acupuncture, Leamington Spa with a Licentiate in Acupuncture. Since then I have taken extensive postgraduate training to specialise in Japanese Toyohari acupuncture, which is now the main part of my practice.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council and of the Toyohari Association, I never stop learning! Toyohari practice requires continual ongoing training and attendance at study sessions and courses throughout the year. This keeps me up to date with new ideas and provides a valuable opportunity to receive feedback about my practiice from colleaguesand tutors.
Whilst I enjoy the challenge of treating a wide range of health conditions, my particular interest is in the field of womens' health such as gynaecological conditions, infertility and menopause. I have attended several specialist courses to study infertility and its treatment by conventional and alternative medicine.
And when I'm not working? I love living in Cumbria and enjoy the beauty and inspiration of our wonderful countryside in my spare time.
